STORM Kathleen has continued to pummel the half a mile of beach huts at Milford-on-Sea that have already been left as rubble by bad weather.

The beach huts have suffered further damage as New Forest District Council (NFDC) has been left helpless to the save them and unable to plan a date for their removal.

Starting at Hordle Cliff and spreading to The White House in Milford-on-Sea, the recent stormy weather in the area has created a beach hut graveyard across the bay.

A spokesperson for NFDC said: "The recent storms and high tides mean conditions remain unsettled and we are unable to plan a date for the removal operation of damaged huts.

"Our teams are removing debris where possible, and we will continue to monitor with regular inspections."

NFDC said it has carried inspections on the beach huts to assess the full impact of storm damage but has been unable to do more.

The beach huts are privately owned with the council approaching owners of their current state.

It has been reported at least one more hut was destroyed on Monday night, April 8, with many left irreparable.

Beach huts can sell for up to £50,000 and sit at points only 10ft from the water.
