A MARRIED couple has taken over running a countryside pub in rural Dorset.
Amelia and Malachai Moore have recently taken on The Rose and Crown, in Trent, just outside of Sherborne, in north Dorset.
Dating back to the 15th century, The Rose and Crown has a thatched roof, old fireplaces and a large garden.
In a statement, the couple said they expect to reopen the pub to residents and visitors by the end of May once staff have been recruited.
They said: “We are super excited to be able to put our stamp on a beautiful historic pub and hope to be well received in the community.
“We have exciting plans. My husband is a fantastic chef, although I am biased, he has worked for many restaurants and hotels in the Cotswolds.
“We are relocating to be closer to my family as they live locally, I have a hospitality degree from Oxford Brookes and plenty of experience working at Barnsely House and the village pub for the past few years.
“We are super excited to be moving and can't wait to make the pub our own.
“We hope to employ some friendly and committed staff, ideally but not essentially with some experience. We will need waiting staff, chefs, a housekeeper and kitchen porters.”
Those looking to apply for the job can write in via email or the pub’s social media.
