OFFICERS are appealing for information after a man was rushed to hospital after being seriously assaulted at a bus stop in Bournemouth.

A man was reportedly assaulted by another man and was verbally abusive before he punched the victim, causing him to fall to the ground.

The incident took place at the Eastbound bus stop on Poole Hill at around 11.15pm on February 17.

The victim – a man in his 60s – was taken to hospital for treatment of serious facial injuries.

Now, police have issued CCTV images of a man they would like to speak to in connection with the incident.

Detective Constable Teighlor-Jade Howard, of Bournemouth CID, said: “We take reports of public place violence of this nature very seriously and we are conducting a full investigation into this incident.

“We have obtained CCTV images of a man we would like to identify as part of our enquiries and I would urge anyone who recognises him to please contact us.”
