UNMARKED police cars were spotted searching an address after reports of a man threatening violence over the phone.

Dorset Police received the report at 12.38pm on Friday, March 29 and it was believed the man was at a property in Wharncliffe Road in Bournemouth.

However, after officers searched the premises, nothing was discovered.

Further enquiries found the man is believed to be making the threats from outside the force area and officers are now liaising with partner forces.

A witness reported seeing around five police cars in the area, including both marked and unmarked vehicles.
