FOUR air traffic controllers will stop by a New Forest motorcycle museum as they tackle a 3,225-mile challenge across the UK and Spain.

Throughout April, Wayne Clarke, Richard Fell, Shaun Bellairs-Wray and Harvey McVicar will embark on the journey to raise money for Prostate Cancer UK and the Solidarity Wings Fund at Aerobility.

The Big Tour, 24 in 2024, will be stopping off at 24 air traffic control units across the UK, starting in Aberdeen, and then will get the ferry to Spain before riding down to Gibraltar, before returning to the UK for the final leg of the journey.

As a part of their mammoth challenge, the quartet will be stopping off at the Sammy Miller Museum in New Milton on April 21.

Here, the museum will give them a big welcome, before they roll out at 1pm with a crew of riders accompanying them on their next leg to Lee on Solent.

Nick Knowles, from DIY SOS, will be there to ride with the team. The museum is also hoping TT racer James Hillier and members of the 007 Motorcycle Stunt Team will also join on the day.

Prostate Cancer UK is of personal significance to team member Wayne, as a colleague at Aberdeen Control Tower passed away from the disease.

The quartet has already raised around £20,000 for the two charities and hope to raise more before they set off on April 14.

The riders will be at the museum for around two hours, with their anticipated arrival at 11am.

Anyone can come and welcome the team and can join them on their next leg.

They will arrive in Gibraltar on April 25, arriving back in Portsmouth on April 29 ahead of the final leg on April 30, finishing at NATS HQ at Whiteley.
