The owner of a new café and tapas bar is ''excited'' to be open in Wimborne.

Café by Jo, located at 1 Poole Road, Wimborne, is aimed at being a classy, homely café and bar that serves traditional Polish cakes and pastries.

Joanna Siwek-Konys, 44, is from Upton. She worked at a café in Poole for three years before opening her own café in February 2024.

Jo said: "It has always been my dream to open a café and I am thrilled we have opened.

"I wanted to open a place that was a bit different, somewhere with different music, a nice atmosphere, and a cosy feel."

Jo said that her husband's dream was to open a pub, so the café stays open on Fridays and Saturdays until 11 pm.

In the evenings, Café by Jo will serve wine and beer alongside tapas-style food, which includes olives, grapes, cheese, chutney, and mixed nuts.

Jo said: "I want people to feel comfortable and almost be a home from home.

"Being open later on the weekend means people can stay as long as they like and enjoy a glass of wine or prosecco and some food."
