A MAN had his tooth knocked out in a fight before an AFC Bournemouth football match.

Police received a report of an ‘altercation’ in Kings Park, near to the Vitality Stadium where AFC Bournemouth were playing Leicester City on the evening of February 27.

It is reported that an 18-year-old man from Leicestershire had been assaulted by another man.

The victim sustained facial injuries and lost a tooth.

Following enquiries, a 36-year-old man from Leicestershire was arrested on suspicion of assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

He has been released on police bail.

Police are now conducting further enquiries into the incident, which was reported at 7.30pm on the evening of the match. 

Police Constable Sam Robinson, of Bournemouth police, said: “We are continuing to investigate this reported assault and I would like to hear from any football fans, or anyone else who was in the area, who witnessed what happened.”
