TWO men smashed into a jewellers with a metal bar before fleeing and setting fire to a fence.
Officers were called to Raffles Jewellers in Ashley Road in Poole after a burglary was reported at 2.33am on March 6.
The two males used a metal bar to smash the glass in a door before then smashing a glass cabinet to steal items.
They left through a damaged rear fence that leads to a courtyard and started a fire near the fence.
Both men, aged in their 40s, have since been arrested on suspicion of burglary.
A spokesperson for Dorset Police said: “At 2.32am on Wednesday 6 March 2024, Dorset Police received a report of a burglary at Raffles Jewellers in Ashley Road in Poole.
“It is reported that entry was gained to the premises, a search was carried out and items were taken.
“Officers attended the incident, and an investigation is now underway.
“Two men – both aged in their 40s – have been arrested on suspicion of burglary.”
