A MAN has been taken to hospital with serious injuries after falling from a roof.

Officers were called to a concern for welfare in Frobisher Avenue, in the Wallisdown area of Poole, late on Saturday night, March 2.

Witnesses reported seeing a fire engine and police officers around the house on the corner with Scott Road.

They said the officers engaged with the man throughout the night before he fell off the roof at around 10.40am on Sunday.

He was taken into the care of paramedics and to hospital.

Resident Norman Marsh said: “I saw a fire engine parked outside on the corner at about midnight and then the next morning, I woke up at 10, went to look outside my bedroom window and there were police everywhere.

“Earlier, there were more ambulances, more police and a fire engine with one of those turntables which was on the corner."

Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service sent three fire engines from stations in Redhill Park, Westbourne and Springbourne.

A number of ambulances and police cars and vans were also seen.

One woman said she saw a person on the roof all night. “There were around 20 emergency service workers there all throughout the night,” she said.

Another woman added: “It’s a quiet area. We’ve lived here for over 25 years and there has never been any trouble before.”
