A PUB remains closed today after a woman was 'stabbed' in her neck outside the premises on Friday night.
The Churchill in Ashley Road, at the junction with Churchill Road in Parkstone, Poole, was the scene of an 'assault' at around 11.30pm on March 1.
The victim, in her 20s, suffered a stab wound on her neck, according to police, and was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
Meanwhile a woman from Poole, 37, has been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent.
Witnesses reported seeing around eight police cars and ambulances attend the incident.
Greene King, the operators of the pub on the corner of Churchill Road, confirmed the incident happened outside the premises.
A spokesperson for the pub said: "The Churchill will remain closed today (Sunday, March 3). We look forward to welcoming you all from tomorrow (Monday) morning."
A spokesman for Dorset Police said: “At around 11.30pm on Friday 1 March 2024, Dorset Police received a report of a serious assault outside The Churchill pub in Ashley Road in Poole.
“It was reported that the victim – a woman in her 20s – sustained a stab wound to her neck.
“Officers attended the incident with the ambulance service. The woman was taken to hospital for treatment to her injuries.
“Following enquiries, a 37-year-old woman from Poole was arrested on suspicion of committing grievous bodily harm with intent.”
