THREE men wearing balaclavas threw a TV through a window before forcing a resident to flee their home.

The trio forced their way into a communal area of a property in Ashley Road, Poole, on Friday evening and started banging on the door of a flat.

After there was no answer, they launched a television through the window, causing the resident inside the flat to flee to a neighbouring address.

The suspects then made off from the scene and it was reported that one of them was nearly involved in a collision with a vehicle as they ran out into the road.

Police are now appealing for witnesses to the aggravated burglary, which happened at around 7pm.

Detective inspector Darren Moores, of BCP CID, said: “We are conducting a number of enquiries to identify those involved in this incident and I am keen to hear from any witnesses or anyone with information that might assist our investigation.

“I am particularly keen to speak to the motorist who was nearly involved in a collision with one of the suspects as they left the scene and would urge anyone who was travelling around the area of Ashley Road, near to the junction with Davis Road, around the time of the incident to please check any dashcam footage to see if they have captured anything that might assist our enquiries.”
