A MAN has died following a medical incident while on a bus.

Police were called to a Morebus double decker bus in Lansdowne Road, just off Coach House Place, shortly after 5pm on Friday, February 23.

The man was in need of medical attention before emergency services rushed to the scene.

However, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officers closed Lansdowne Road from Oxford Road and Cemetery Junction following the incident.

Meanwhile a cordon was put in place around the bus while officers carried out their enquiries. There are no suspicious circumstances, according to police.

A spokesman for the force said: "Dorset Police received a report at 5.09pm of a medical incident involving a man in need of medical attention on a bus in Lansdowne Road in Bournemouth.

"Emergency services attended and road closures were put in place as they responded.

"Very sadly, the man was pronounced deceased at the scene. His family has been informed and the coroner has been notified.

"The death is not being treated as suspicious.

"Road closures were lifted at around 6.50pm.

"Our thoughts are with the man’s family and loved ones at this difficult time."
