IN this day and age we pay taxes on almost everything and most times twice over. We work and pay tax. We purchase goods and pay more tax. We buy a house and pay more tax . We buy fuel and pay tax.

We get a scrimpy pension and pay tax on that after a lifetime of working.

Now Bournemouth is thinking of taxing the tourist on top of the crazy high parking charges. Without the beach Bournemouth does not offer what it used to. Why frighten the tourists away before they even get here?

Who is going to operate the checking and controls of this scheme? Who is going to collect the cash? Should Bournemouth not get the town back to normality before charging tourists a premium to turn up in one of the many scruffy hotels ?

I for one would not pay any extra to holiday in an area that looks run down.

Why copy other towns and countries? Is it just easy money which will be squandered away on overheads?

What will this cash go towards at the end of the day and where will the first two million pounds get spent?

An idea that sounds easy but I am sure there will be many problems.
