A THIEF has been jailed after assaulting a man, stealing clothes, and damaging a town centre shop.
Alan Shales, 37 and of Glen Road in Bournemouth, faced a haul of charges following the incidents in Bournemouth.
He admitted to a charge of burglary [other than dwelling] with theft, relating to an incident on August 19, 2023, in which he entered Sainsbury’s in Christchurch Road, Bournemouth and stole alcohol to the value of £265.50.
He admitted to a charge of common assault, relating to an incident on September 6, 2023, in which he assaulted a man at The Quadrant Centre in Old Christchurch Road.
He admitted to a charge of theft from a shop, relating to an incident on September 6, 2023, in which he stole two Calvin Klein hoodies of a value to £99.98 from TK Maxx in The Quadrant Centre in Old Christchurch Road, Bournemouth.
He admitted to a charge of criminal damage relating to an incident on September 6, 2023, in which he damaged a wall in TK Maxx in The Quadrant Centre in Old Christchurch Road, Bournemouth. The damage was totalled up to £2638.51.
He admitted to a charge of burglary [other than dwelling] with intent to steal, relating to an incident on October 23, 2023, in the Sovereign Centre in Christchurch Road, Bournemouth. He had gone behind a counter with an ‘intent to steal’.
He admitted to a second charge of burglary [other than dwelling] with intent to steal, relating to an incident on October 22, 2023, in the Sovereign Centre in Christchurch Road, Bournemouth. He had gone behind a counter with an ‘intent to steal’.
He also admitted to a charge of failing to surrender to custody at Poole magistrates' Court having been released on bail in criminal proceedings on November 8, 2023.
Shales was sentenced for his offences at Poole Magistrates’ Court on January 30.
He was jailed for 30 weeks and ordered to pay £350 in compensation.
