A BOURNEMOUTH store is on the look out for the town’s most romantic love stories over the past century.

Bobby’s in The Square wants residents’ love stories and pictures that the famous shop has been a part of.

The most romantic stories will be celebrated on Bobby’s website and social media channels having the very best being immortalised with the couple’s names engraved on a tile on the outside.

Anna Novelli, the Beauty Hall manager, said: “The original Bobby & Co opened in 1915 and became the go-to place for couples in love, it was where they met for tea dances, bought engagement rings, gifts, and even wedding gowns.

“We’re asking the public to share these stories of meet-cutes, courting, and even proposals in the building.

“The renovation and restoration team are currently working on some beautiful new green tiles for the front of the building and we’d like to engrave one of these with the couple’s names so that their story becomes part of the Bobby’s building itself.”

As well as tile engraving, the Beauty Hall is also offering a free engraving service on its gifts this Valentine’s.

Anna added: “I was here when it was Debenhams and it was the same then as it is now, people come here to get their Valentine’s or anniversary presents and tell us stories about how they met here or how they got their wedding dress from here.

“It’s so wonderful to know Bobby’s has always had such a special place in people’s hearts.”

Send in your love story to the team on email at enquiries@bobbysbournemouth.com or by post to Bobby's Bournemouth, 2-12 Commercial Road, Bournemouth. BH2 5LP.
