A FESTIVAL that celebrates cultures and communities in Bournemouth is set to celebrate its fifth anniversary.

The World of Love festival takes place every summer in Kings Park, bringing together ethnic minority communities to share their diverse lifestyles, arts, cultures, food, sports, languages and more.

Members of the Polish, African, Chinese, Arabian, Ukrainian, Brazilian, Gypsy and more communities from Dorset and beyond gather in the county’s largest multicultural event.

Organiser Bea Sieradzka said the festival ‘serves as a catalyst for unity and inclusivity, providing a platform to form new relationships, discover business opportunities, and deepen cultural understanding’.

“The world is so beautiful and so colourful,” Bea said. “Every culture is different, every culture has something very special to offer.

“At World of Love, when you come and visit the event, you can just inhale the world. You can feel all the colours and sounds, in one place, at the same time.

“Normally, it is one day, this year it is going be two days, when people can come and indulge in everything that the world has to offer.”

Bea explained that the festival has grown each year since its inception, now welcoming thousands of people to the event.

“We started in 2019, as a small event at one of the local schools,” she said.

“Then we were just growing, every year the number of visitors to the event doubled.”

Bea, originally from Poland, said she founded the event because of her son, who is bilingual.

“I wanted to make sure that children like my son are proud of their heritage,” she said.

“I wanted to also make sure that children like him understand the culture they come from but also that both children and adults of British heritage can see the different cultures, the worlds, here on their doorstep here in Bournemouth.

“That even if they don’t travel, they are still able to come here and see all these amazing people, all these amazing parties, dancers, singers, businesses and crafts people.

“They can see all these beautiful colours and hear all these incredible sounds, and just embrace the world, and just feel the world the way it is.”
