A MUSIC festival has been given the green light to return to Christchurch this summer.

Christchurch Music Festival will be hosted at the Quay in July, meaning the countdown is officially on.

It will be the second event held by new organisers Dave Burns and Jason Giddings, who also own Bodega and The Thomas Tripp in Christchurch.

Three days of entertainment have been lined up for the festival, featuring local acts and DJs from across a whole mix of genres.

Vendors and traders have also signed up to take part and will be on hand to supply food and drink throughout the long weekend.

New this year, the Big Top will host DJ dance parties and original tunes to keep the party going all day long.

There will also be a funfair and a KidZone tent by the Dorset Children’s Foundation.

Organisers say: “Brace yourself for unexpected delights around every corner – from flashmobs to spontaneous moments that will keep you on your toes.

“This year's festival is set to be legendary, so grab your tickets in advance and join the celebration.”

The lineup for Christchurch Music Festival 2024 has also now been announced.

It features Audio Allstars, Rat Race, Sirpico, GRoovemeister, Crash Bang Wallop, Old Time Sailors, BB3, Skabba and much more.

Christchurch Music Festival 2024 is due to take place on July 19, 20 and 21.

At the beginning of 2023, Dave and Jason won the rights to the event and announced they would be hosting its return in July that year.

Their mission was to ‘bring the event back for local businesses’.

After a successful first year, they are excited to bring the festival back in July.
