A MODEL show will be held at Dorset’s most popular museum later this month.

The South West Model Show will be held in front of the world’s largest collection of military vehicles at the Tank Museum in Bovington on February 10 and 11.

Visitors can have a go at Scalextric racing, fly a model aeroplane with the British Model Flying Association and meet Dr Who villains the Daleks, from the Dalek Charity Squad.

Events manager Tom Holmes said: “The model show brings the whole family together to take part in a fun and hands-on weekend that celebrates model making at the home of the tank.

“We are looking forward to seeing displays from our first modelling competition, and we thank Airfix and the Art’s University of Bournemouth for their sponsorship.”

AUB will be holding a tree-making workshop and visitors can challenge the family with the new gel master gun game and build a model with Models for Heroes.

The Vehicle Conservation Centre will also be open for visitors to view the rare and quirky armoured vehicles that are not usually on public display.
