CUSTOMERS are competing to grab a seat at Boscombe’s new Italian delicatessen.

Da Nunzio has opened in the Royal Arcade by Nunzio Esposito and his fiancé Naomi Brown.

The pair aspire to bring authentic Italian cuisine and ambience to the area, serving coffee, pastries, cakes and freshly made paninis.

Nunzio’s family are originally from Napoli, Italy. He wanted to bring a taste of Italian home foods to Bournemouth.

Nunzio said: ”I am excited about bringing Italy to the UK and for people to try out authentic food.”

All the food, including cheese, bread, charcuterie meat, and pasta, is imported from Italy.

The paninis and sandwiches are made fresh in-store and can be customised upon request.

There are also a variety of Italian snacks, pasta and sauces available to buy from the deli.

Da Nunzio, which opened in December, also offers a personalised charcuterie board with a selection of cheeses, meats, and olives.

On occasion, Nunzio has ordered unique cheeses and meats from Italy when customers have asked for them.

The deli also offers a variety of gluten-free options, such as gluten-free bread and pasta.

Customer service is a top priority for Nunzio, he said: ”I want everyone to feel happy and relaxed.

“Our closing hours are 5pm, but on Saturday, people were enjoying themselves so much that I kept the doors open until 7pm.

Da Nunzio is located at 14 Royal Arcade, Boscombe.

Nunzio said: “I think what’s great about Boscombe is that the locals really support us. It is a wonderful place full of amazing people.”

“One of our customers bought a load of produce from us, and then three hours later, he came back and made us a soup using what he had bought.”

Nunzio added: “I love it. It’s a really nice change of pace, and you get to meet some amazing, supportive people along the way.”

The delicatessen is open seven days a week, from 8.30pm to 5pm and from 10am to 4pm on Sundays.

It was visited by food hygiene inspectors on January 3, 2023, and received a five-star rating.
