The public will also have the chance to immerse themselves into the world of aviation through interactive flight simulators as well as engaging with experiences pilots.

The fun filled weekend, organised by Aero Legends, is set to take place over the weekend of August 10 and 11.

Benjamin Perkins, Aero Legends managing director, said: "We are thrilled to present the 'Golden Age of Aviation Air Show' in collaboration with Compton Abbas Airfield.

"This event is not just a showcase of our passion for aviation but a tribute to the pioneers who shaped the course of flight history."

Aviation enthusiasts, families and the public can purchase tickets on the 'Compton Abbas Airshow' website.

‘The Golden Age of Aviation’ show will take place at the Compton Abbas Airfield in Ashmore, North Dorset, which was purchased by Guy Ritchie’s Ashcombe Estates Ltd in February last year.

The site was closed for four weeks for renovations that had been “informed by feedback from the community” and were part of their “commitment to investing in the future of the airfield”.

The company previously said that the improvements to the existing buildings and infrastructure would be done in a ‘sympathetic manner’.

The new air show comes after BCP Council announced this year’s Bournemouth Air Festival could be the last of its kind if it goes ahead.

Funding has been capped by the council at £200k and can only go ahead if businesses, sponsorships and donations can contribute a minimum of £100k.

Provisional dates have been set for the Bournemouth Air Festival for four days between August 29 and September 1.
