A NEW Forest hotel and wedding venue is understood to have permanently shut its doors.

The Barn New Milton has been the subject of much speculation.

Its website has been taken down and Google lists the hotel as permanently closed.

Companies House records show that Southampton-based liquidators TruSolv were appointed in August last year.

According to a statement of affairs for The Barn (New Milton) Ltd, the firm owes £129,462 to company creditors, including some in Dorset.

Chefs Mate GB, a fresh fruit and vegetable producer based in Christchurch, is owed £519.22.

Express Laundry in Poole is owed £2,970.

Hutching Bros Seafood and Game Ltd in Bournemouth is owed £1,315.

Shadow Design, a printing company in Bournemouth is owed £985.

The firm also owes HM Revenue & Customs £50,703.

The Grade II listed venue was popular for wedding and celebration events and could cater for up to 150 people.

The Barn was described as ‘the perfect place to eat, drink and stay while exploring the beauty of the New Forest and surrounding areas'.

According to an archived version of its now-deleted website, the hotel offered ‘warm decor, a wide choice of wines, beers, gins, and cocktails, an extensive locally sourced menu, and locally sourced produce all wrapped up in a friendly atmosphere'.

The Daily Echo has approached TruSolv for more information, however, has been unable to contact The Barn, or its director,  Charles Olivier Bruske.
