DO YOU think the roads in Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole should have reduced speed limits from 30mph to 20mph?
It's a topic which has divided residents across the conurbation and has generated a lot of discussion.
One one side people are saying it would slow motorists down and contribute to even further traffic problems.
But those in favour have said it would lead to better road safety, help protect cyclists and pedestrians and could even reduce pollution.
Deputy council leader Millie Earl, who said it's the authority's intention to roll out 20mph limits, said: “Roads across our country are still dangerous places and we shouldn't accept the level of harm that is caused by road traffic incidents.
“Other councils across the UK have already started implementing these speed limits in their urban areas, and we would like the residential areas of the three towns to benefit from the improvement to public health and safety that 20mph speed limits bring."
Meanwhile opposition leader Phil Broadhead said it is an "anti-car measure" while Poole MP Sir Robert Syms warned it is "nuts" and would upset many residents.
