AN INDEPENDENT vegan health store in Bournemouth has said 2024 is “very likely” to be its last year of trading.

Sunrise Organics in St Michael’s Road near The Triangle said it is "becoming unviable” due to “endless rising costs and shrinking footfall”.

The owners of the store have issued a heartfelt plea on social media for people to support it.

It said: “We might be able to turn things around, but without you, we can’t make this happen.

“So please, come and visit us. If you haven’t been in for a while, don’t worry, you’re still very, very welcome. Just do please spend something with us.

“We’re not looking for charity, nor expect you to do your weekly shop with us, but hey, we won’t stop you if you do.

"Simply, every little bit makes a huge difference to us.”

The 100 per cent vegan store opened in 2015 and specialises in organic foods, superfoods, and supplements.

It also has a zero waste refills area and sells organic fruit and veg, along with fresh bread from Bakehouse 24 twice a week.
