DUDSBURY GOLF Club Hotel and Spa has announced it will be permanently closing its doors from next month.

Following 'careful consideration of various factors', the spa, catering, and events business will also permanently close.

In October, it was announced that the golf club off Christchurch Road, in Ferndown, would close in March this year.

At the same time plans for a hotel refurbishment were revealed.

An email sent to club members, and seen by the Echo, states: “It is with a heavy heart that we announce the closure of the Hotel, spa, catering, and events business at Dudsbury Golf Club, effective from the 1st of February 2024.

“This decision has not been made lightly, and it comes after careful consideration of various factors affecting the viability of these operations.

“Despite our best efforts to sustain these services, we have faced significant challenges that have led us to this difficult decision."

The email continues: "We would also like to reassure our golfing members that any remaining balances left on membership cards will be reimbursed in April.

“We appreciate your patience at this time.

“We understand that this news may come as a disappointment, and we sincerely apologize for any inconvenience it may cause.

“We appreciate your understanding during these challenging times.”

the entire site will close on April 1 2024.

The website Dudsbury Golf Club has also been taken down, however, members will be able to use facilities until March 31.

Plans for the future of the area are yet to be announced.

Founded in 2006, the hotel boasts 160 acres of panoramic views of Stour Valley and is home to the ‘most spectacular countryside’ on view in Dorset.
