NEW CGI images of a new retirement village in Wimborne have been released.

Construction is well under way for developer McCarthy Stone’s The Old Market Village in the old market place in Station Road before apartments go on sale in the spring.

The village will feature 43 one-bedroom and 24 two-bedroom apartments at Market House, and 32 bungalows at The Old Market Gardens, which has been specifically designed for the over 70s.

Retirees are being invited to an information event at the Allendale Centre in Hanham Road on Thursday, January 25.

Two presentations, held between 11am and 2pm, will provide more details about key construction milestones, confirmed dates and overview of the next steps.

Nicki Beswarick, divisional marketing manager at McCarthy Stone, said: “Buying a new home is always a big decision, but never more so when considering downsizing and embracing a new lifestyle in an age-exclusive development.

“That’s why we want to ensure those considering this lifestyle have as much information, support – and choice – as possible.

“Our purpose-built, specialist homes allow people to live as independently as possible and make the most of their retirement in a warm, secure environment, where there’s always a friendly face when you want some company.

We’re anticipating high demand, so we’d like to encourage anyone interested in learning more about The Old Market Village and the wealth of facilities and services on offer to pop along to our Information Event to hear how we can make a move work for them.”
