I WAS shocked to see Christmas trees in Bournemouth’s Square being removed, along with the lights in the Lower Gardens, as early as Wednesday 3 January - the tenth day of Christmas.
This is two days before the wise men arrive on Twelfth Night and the Feast of the Epiphany.
Abroad, especially in France, Italy and Spain, the season continues to build up to Twelfth Night with commercial benefit.
Should we not be marketing the town as the place to be for the Christmas climax?
There are fine town centre churches including St Stephen’s, with a crib and strong music heritage, marking the Magi’s visit to the baby Jesus in the stable.
