A WOMAN has been arrested following a car crash which saw a man airlifted to hospital.

Dorset Police received a report of a crash involving a silver Vauxhall Astra and a green Vauxhall Insignia on West Overcliff Drive, near the junction with West Cliff Road.

It was also reported that a grey Audi A6 was seen in the area around the time of the collision.

The driver of the Vauxhall Insignia, a Bournemouth man aged in his 30s, was taken to Southampton General Hospital, where he remains in a serious condition.

The driver of the Astra, aged in his 20s and from Ferndown, also sustained injuries that required hospital treatment.

Following enquiries by officers from the Roads Policing Team, a woman aged in her 20s from Bournemouth was arrested on suspicion of driving offences.

She has been released under investigation as further investigative work is carried out.

Following the incident, which occurred around 8pm on Wednesday, December 27, officers have been appealing for any witnesses or any motorists with relevant dashcam footage to come forward.
