A DORSET cyber-security firm has won the Defence Recognition Scheme Gold Award.

The award highlights the company’s devotion towards the armed forces and surrounding defence communities.

Founded in 2006 by two former members of the Royal Corps of Signals, C3IA  Solutions is a Dorset-based information technology company.

The company also supports war veterans with the tough transition from soldiers to citizens.

The award was presented to the team by Wessex RFCA and Defence Relationship Management (DRM) at the end of November last year.

Principal consultants Andy Campbell, Laura Midwinter-Brown and managing director John Botterill all attended the awards ceremony.

Andy, who has served in the military for 47 years, said: “I joined C3IA Solutions because I am very aware of their values and ethos which matches my own.

“As a largely ex-military cohort, our strength comes from our shared experience, allowing us to understand each other and work well together.

“I am also enjoying the opportunity to work with younger, non-military staff to offer a mentoring relationship.

“C3IA Solutions offered me a three-day working week which aligns with my reservist work, so I can commit one-and-a-half days each week supporting Joint Warfare.”

Ms Midwinter-Brown joined C3IA in 2013 after finishing 22 years of service for the British Army.

She said: “The company supported my transition from soldier to civilian, and over the last 10 years they have encouraged me to develop and grow my skills.

“I am proud to be part of a company that has a clear commitment to the armed forces and understands the benefits and skills ex-service personnel can bring to any organisation.”

Mr Botterill said: “At C3IA, our team reflects the whole of the armed forces community and the wider defence community, including veterans, reservists and military spouses.

“We value the diverse perspectives and experiences that each member brings.

We would like to thank Wessex RFCA and Defence Relationship Management (DRM) for the prestigious award and we look forward to continuing our support in the future.”

C3IA Solutions is on Ling Road, Hillbourne.
