TWO other people were injured in a serious crash on the Sandbanks peninsula on Boxing Day.
Three people were treated for injuries following a crash between a black Mercedes and a grey BMW in Banks Road, Poole, at around 1am on Tuesday.
A 17-year-old Poole girl remains in hospital after the crash she was a passenger in and suffered "very serious injuries".
She also had to be cut free from the car by firefighters and was airlifted to Southampton General Hospital.
However the other two people were treated for minor injuries but did not need to go to hospital, according to the police.
Nobody has been arrested, Dorset Police has confirmed.
Multiple emergency services rushed to the scene of the crash in the early hours on December 26,with one witness saying they say up to 10 police cars race down the road.
A spokeswoman for Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service said: "We were called at 1.06am on 26 December with reports of a road traffic collision on Banks Road, Poole.
"Three fire engines were mobilised to the incident from Poole, Westbourne and Springbourne and on arrival found two vehicles involved.
"Firefighters used hydraulic cutting equipment to release one casualty from one vehicle and handed over to the ambulance service.
"Another three casualties were reported who were all walking wounded.
"The stop came in at 2:38am and crews remained on scene until 4:20am."
A spokeswoman for the South Western Ambulance Service said: “We received a call at 1.02am on Tuesday, 26 December regarding an incident in the Sandbanks area of Poole.
"We dispatched an air ambulance, an operations officer and two double crewed road ambulances.”
Dorset Police is appealing for anybody who witnesses the crash, or has dashcam footage, to come forward.
Inspector Craig Tatton, of the roads policing team, said: “I am appealing for any witnesses who have not yet spoken with police to please come forward.
“Also, I would urge anyone who has dashcam fitted to their vehicle and was in the vicinity at the time to check whether they have captured anything of relevance that might assist our enquiries."
