A DORSET pub featured on Channel 4 show Four in a Bed has been transformed following a £135,000 refurbishment.

Community pub The Britannia in Sherborne reopened last month following a major transformation.

Husband and wife duo Hannah and Lee Steele, who are licensees, were able to breathe new life into the venue following combined investment with UK community pub company, Admiral Taverns.

Hannah said: “Lee and I are over the moon with how the refurbishment has turned out – The Britannia look fantastic.

“We are so excited to show off its new look to our customers, old and new, and we can’t wait to see what the future brings for us here.

"It’s such a special place, close to the heart of many, and we feel honoured to be playing such a huge part in its success.”

A newly launched food menu comprises classic pub favourites with an “elevated twist”, featuring homemade food using locally sourced produce.

Internally the pub, which includes five en-suite letting rooms, has been split into three areas to ensure it caters to all tastes.

Customers can enjoy a cosy main bar with newly upholstered wooden furniture and booths, as well as a peaceful dining room complete with an open fireplace.

The pub also features a games room with its own bar, a juke box, pool table, and flat screen TVs hosting Sky Sports.

Externally, the pub has been refreshed and hosts a spacious outdoor decking area, complete with shelter so it can be enjoyed all-year-round, seating up to 50 people.

Hannah and Lee, who have run the pub since 2021, led the pub to victory on Channel 4’s Four in a Bed earlier this year.

The couple also run the Rose & Crown, a traditional country pub owned by Admiral Taverns, as well as several other local businesses.

David Stallard, business development manager at Admiral Taverns, said: “I’d like to thank Lee and Hannah for all their hard work at The Britannia over the last few years, and particularly for bringing the refurbishment to life.

"They both have a such a clear vision to ensure the pub remains as a community pillar for generations to come and that really is very special.”
