POLICE are hunting a driver following a hit and run crash involving three vehicles.

Dorset Police have released a description of a man they are trying to trace in relation to the crash on the B3073 Christchurch Road near the Parley Cross junction in West Parley.

It involved a silver Vauxhall Astra, a blue Mitsubishi L200, and a blue Kia Ceed.

It was reported the male driver of the Astra made off from the scene on Tuesday, December 7, at 4.50pm.

He is described as being between five foot nine inches and six feet tall, of thin build, with a dark, scruffy beard.

He was wearing a dark-coloured hooded anorak, dark tracksuit bottoms and a beany hat.

Officers attended the scene and the junction was temporarily closed.

There was no report of any serious injuries.

Police Constable Kier Dagnall, of the Roads Policing Team, said: “This incident resulted in the closure of a major junction, and it is fortunate that no one was seriously injured. I would like to thank motorists for their patience and understanding during the closure.

“We are carrying out enquiries to establish the full circumstances of the collision. I would urge any witnesses to the collision itself, or the manner of driving of the vehicles involved, to please contact us.

“I would also like to hear from motorists who may have captured any relevant dashcam footage.

“I would also urge the driver who allegedly made off from the scene to come forward and contact us so we can hear their account of the incident.”
