A MAN in his 60s has died after a crash with a parked car in Poole this morning. 

The driver of a silver Vauxhall Astra, from Poole, has died in a crash with a parked car during rush hour. 

The incident is reported to have happened on Ringwood Road, near its junction with Dorchester Road, shortly after 7am. 

Despite the best efforts of paramedics, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.  

His next of kin has been made aware.

Road closures were put in place by police as the emergency services responded to the incident and they were lifted at around 10.10am. 

Sergeant Gareth Thomas, of the roads policing team, said: “Our thoughts are with the family of the man who sadly died in this collision, and we are investigating the incident to establish the full circumstances of what happened. 

“I am keen to hear from any witnesses who have not already spoken to police, and I would urge anyone who was driving in the Ringwood Road area between around 7am and 8.45am on Monday 4 December 2023 to please review any available dashcam footage to see if they have captured anything of relevance. 

“Finally, I would like to thank motorists for their patience and understanding while the road closures were in place.”

A spokesperson for the South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust (SWASFT) said: “We were called at 08.38hrs on Monday 04 December to a road traffic incident on Ringwood Road, Poole.

"We sent two double-crewed land ambulances and an operations officer.”
