AN Indian takeaway which was previously awarded a low rating for its hygiene has seen a major improvement.
Queen Mumtaz, in Christchurch Road, Bournemouth, has recently been upgraded to a five-out-of-five rating by food hygiene inspectors.
The restaurant and takeaway, which opened in February this year, had a revisit by the Food Standards Agency on November 21.
They found the standards to be ‘very good’ following a reinspection following a one-out-of-five rating in June.

As reported by the Daily Echo, the Indian restaurant in Christchurch Road was previously named Abdul’s and Momtaz.
Now, the rename combines the Arabic name Mumtaz, which means excellence, and Queen in honour of Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II following her death.
Manager and entrepreneur Shahadat Hosan wanted a fresh start and ‘eco-friendly’ plans.
The traditional Indian cuisine at Queen Mamtaz, which also features a vegan menu, is made with no artificial colours or flavours.
