Dorset's motorists will have six road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

And one of them is expected to cause delays of between 10 minutes and half an hour.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that three closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

• A31, from 8pm November 20 to 6am December 9, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A31 clockwise Lake Gate roundabout, Lane closure for signage works.

• A303, from 8pm April 3 to 5am December 30, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A303 both directions Hayes End to Parkhouse - mobile lane works for drainage works.

• A31, from 8pm September 4 2023 to 6am April 30 2024, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A31 both directions Ashley Heath to Palmersford, carriageway closure for carriageway reconstruction works.

And a further two closures will begin over the next two weeks:

• A31, from 8pm December 4 to 6am December 7, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A31 both directions Lake Gates to Roundhouse, traffic signals for electrical works.

• A31, from 8pm December 8 to 6am December 9, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A31 eastbound, West Moors, slip road and lane closures for technology work.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
