AN INTERNATIONAL sports brand is to open its first Dorset shop this week.
Nike is to finally open its shop at Castlepoint Shopping Centre in Bournemouth on Thursday, November 23.
Work first started on the shop earlier this year and will fill in the empty GAP unit which closed in the summer of 2021.
A spokesperson from the joint venture owners of Castlepoint said the centre is looking forward to the arrival of Nike.
They added: “Arguably the most recognisable sports brand in the world, Nike is perfectly aligned to the potential we observed in Castlepoint as a major regional retailing destination.
“Occupier interest in Castlepoint remains high and we are now carefully curating the tenant mix and working alongside our brands to maximise the offer and better meet consumer demand.
“It is clear operators have confidence in the scheme and we’re looking forward to exploring further opportunities as we move through 2023 and beyond.”
Nike currently has 30 stores in England but the Bournemouth store will be its first in Dorset. At present, the nearest store is located in Portsmouth.
