RESIDENTS are being asked to double check bikes and motorbikes that are being sold to them.

It follows a burglary from a residential garage in Barton-on-Sea at around 3am on Tuesday, November 14.

Three mountain bikes, and off-road motorcycle, were reportedly loaded into the back of a white Fiat 500 which drove off with the boot lid open.

A Hampshire Police spokesperson said: “We’re appealing for anyone who lives in the area, or perhaps near the Hampshire/Dorset border and saw a Fiat 500 with the boot lid open in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

“We would also like to hear from anyone who has been offered sale of the stolen bikes, or has perhaps seen them for sale online.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101, quoting 44230465308.
