AN INQUEST has opened into the sudden death of a Bournemouth woman who was found unresponsive at a property in Weymouth.

Katya Bregoli, 51, lived in Mountbatten Gardens, Bournemouth but was found dead at the scene in Weymouth.

Area coroner for Dorset, Brendan Allen, opened the inquest into her death at Bournemouth Town Hall on November 1.

Coroner officer, Matt Cave, told Dorset Coroner’s Court that police were called to a property following reports of an unresponsive female.

A police officer was able to identify Katya from comparison of her passport photo.

Police confirmed there were no suspicious circumstances surrounding her death.

Dr Russel Delaney conducted a post-mortem examination and concluded Katya’s provisional cause of death to be from mixed drug intoxication.

Mr Allen adjourned the inquest until January 19 at 10am.

Following her death, Katya’s daughter set up a fundraiser to raise money for her funeral.

Her daughter, Daisy, wrote: “Due to this being a sudden passing, we do not have funeral plans in place.

“I am fundraising to give her a beautiful send off.

“I believe mum would want a party to celebrate her life, and to have everyone there to say goodbye.”

The family were able to surpass their £1,500 target and raised £2,325.
