ENGINEERING works are set to affect travellers this weekend, with no trains running between Southampton and Bournemouth.

South Western Railway confirmed that all lines in the Southampton and Brockenhurst areas would be closed all weekend for maintenance works.

On Saturday, November 4, all services from London Waterloo to Weymouth will terminate at Southampton Central.

Services between Southampton Central and Bournemouth will not run, with a revised service running between Bournemouth, Poole and Weymouth.

As a result, replacement bus services will run non-stop between Southampton Central and Bournemouth.

Other bus services will run between the two stations, some stopping at Christchurch and others running via Brockenhurst.

Train services between Brockenhurst and Lymington will not be running, with buses also running between Southampton Central and New Milton, via Brockenhurst and Lymington.

On Sunday, services from Waterloo to Weymouth will terminate at Southampton Airport Parkway.

The morning and afternoon services to Poole and Portsmouth via Eastleigh will not divide at Eastleigh and will continue to Portsmouth Harbour.

The late afternoon and evening services from Waterloo to Poole will start from Bournemouth. Revised services will run between Bournemouth, Poole and Weymouth, as on Saturday.

Rail replacement buses will run between Eastleigh, Southampton Airport Parkway and Bournemouth.

Other buses will run between Eastleigh and Bournemouth, stopping at Southampton Central and Brockenhurst.

Buses will operate between Southampton Central, Christchurch and Bournemouth, too.

On Saturday, services will not run between Brockenhurst and Lymington. Instead, buses will run between Eastleigh and New Milton, via Southampton Central, Brockenhurst and Lymington.
