The headline of the article “Dorset Police officer sacked for sharing racist WhatsApp messages”, published on 14 June 2023, stated that Mr Jordan-Gill, a former Dorset Police officer, had been dismissed for “sharing racist WhatsApp messages”.
This was inaccurate. Mr Jordan-Gill was dismissed after it was found he had shared “inappropriate and offensive messages”.
This correction has been published following an upheld ruling by the Independent Press Standards Organisation.
