A MAN has been detained by the Border Force after he was suspected of being in the UK illegally.
A 35-year-old man is in the hands of UK Visas and Immigration after he was found in Charminster, Bournemouth on Thursday, September 28.
Police officers were doing patrols in Bournemouth along with immigration enforcement officers responding to concerns of workers being exploited and modern-day slavery offences.
A number of properties in the area were searched by the officers.
Police would not confirm where he was from and that it would “not be appropriate to comment any further”.
Elsewhere, a number of shops were found to be selling illegal vapes. Bournemouth police said: “We are working with our partners on trading standards to tackle this problem.
“The team also conducted licencing checks with other departments to ensure that premises were abiding by their license.”
The Home Office has been approached for more details.
