A MAN was struck on the head with a bottle and a police officer was attacked outside Revolution in Bournemouth town centre.

Emergency services were called to the town centre at 10.55pm on Saturday, September 30 after reports of a ‘disturbance’ outside Revolution.

Witnesses said partygoers were told to remain in the bar for around half an hour while police officers investigated the incident.

Dorset Police have confirmed that a man was hit on the head with a bottle and a second male victim was assaulted.

A police officer was also assaulted while detaining three males in connection with the incident.

The three suspects, a 16-year-old boy, a 19-year-old man and a 50-year-old man, were later arrested on suspicion of inflicting grievous bodily harm, assaulting an emergency worker and affray.

The 19-year-old man was also arrested on suspicion of obstructing a police constable in the execution of their duty.

All three males are from the London area and have been released on police bail as enquiries continue.

A spokesperson from Dorset Police said: “Dorset Police received a report at 10.55pm on Saturday 30 September 2023 from officers on patrol in the town centre who had come across a disturbance outside Revolution in Old Christchurch Road.

“It was reported that a man had been struck on the head with a bottle and a second male victim had also been assaulted.

“Three suspects were detained and it was reported that an officer was assaulted as this was taking place.

“A 16-year-old boy and two men, aged 19 and 50, were arrested on suspicion of inflicting grievous bodily harm, assaulting an emergency worker and affray.

"The 19-year-old was also arrested on suspicion of obstructing a police constable in the execution of their duty.

“The three males, all from the London area, have been released on police bail as further enquiries are conducted.”
