HIGH spring tides could cause flooding at Christchurch Harbour this evening, the Environment Agency has warned.
A flood alert, meaning flooding is possible, has been issued for Christchurch Harbour and tidal stretches of the Lower Stour and Avon between 8pm and 11.30pm on Saturday night, September 30.
The Environment Agency warned levels will be at their highest at 10pm.

The local tide level is forecast to reach 1.24 metres.
The Environment Agency said: “The high tides on Sunday evening are expected to be higher than normal and may result in us issuing a further alert.
“Areas most at risk include Christchurch Harbour and tidal stretches of the Lower Stour and Avon.”
They added: “We are closely monitoring the situation remotely. We are not expecting to shut pedestrian tide gates this evening but will monitor closely.
“Consider activating any property flood protection products.”
