A TRIAL date has been set following the alleged murder of an 18-year-old man in Bournemouth town centre.

Cameron Hamilton was pronounced dead in Bournemouth Square having been stabbed in the chest, an inquest previously heard.

According to reports made to police, a fight had erupted in the early hours of Saturday, August 5, involving a group of people.

Two men are now due to stand trial on January 29 next year in connection with Cameron’s death.

Thomas Betteridge, 18, is accused of murder and being in possession of a bladed article.

Lennie Hansen, 18, has been charged with assisting an offender and possessing a bladed article.

The pair appeared via video link before Bournemouth Crown Court this morning with neither entering any pleas.

The trial is expected to last between two and three weeks.
