THE Sainsbury’s café in Christchurch is set to close its doors next month.

The café inside the Sainsbury’s superstore off Lyndhurst Road will be closing on Friday, October 6.

A spokesperson for the supermarket chain said: “We have taken the difficult decision to close the café in our Christchurch store on 6th October.

“We understand that this is an unsettling time for our colleagues and are supporting them in any way that we can.”

In March of this year, Sainsbury’s in Christchurch lost its in-store Lloyds Pharmacy.

The branch was closed as part of a decision by Lloyds to close 237 of its pharmacies in response to “changing market conditions”.

The Christchurch supermarket has also had a re-shuffle of its layout in recent months to make "better use of the space" and enable an increased product range.
