EMERGENCY gas repairs have been put in place resulting in very long delays after a 'smell of gas' in Ferndown.
Three-way traffic lights have also been put in place in Christchurch Road in Ferndown to cope with traffic.
Bradley Barlow, a spokesperson for gas distribution company SGN, said: "We’re carrying out repairs to our gas network in Christchurch Road, Ferndown following a report of a smell of gas.
"For everyone’s safety around our work area, we’ve installed three-way traffic lights at its junctions with Ham Lane and Ringwood Road. Our lights will be manually controlled from 7am to 7pm.
"It’s too soon to say how long our repair will take but we’re working as quickly as possible to complete it."
Posting on social media, Dorset Council said: "SGN are dealing with a gas leak on Christchurch Rd, Ferndown, with temp signals at Longham double minis, junction with Ringwood Rd/Ham Lane."
Long delays have been reported in Christchurch Road, Ham Lane and northbound on Ringwood Road to Bear Cross.
