The Kings Arms in North Street is now closed today, Friday, September 22, and has been put on the market for a new landlord.

Stonegate, who own the pub, are advertising for a fixed term tenancy and estimate a potential turnover per year as £456,000, with rent per week being around £558.

“Just to clarify, the pub is now closed for the foreseeable. Ta ra.”

Gutted residents took to social media to mourn the loss of their watering hole.

One man said: My favourite pub in Wareham loved spending time there, great staff and positive vibes from the place.

“Very sad I will miss it. Great beers great selection of real ales and live music regular I am guttered it closed.”

Another man added: “A sad day for Wareham. Hope to see it open again one day soon.”

Stonegate describe the Kings Arms as an “idyllic traditional thatched pub that internally boasts a number of cosy snug areas”.

It says the pub is in frequently used by tourists in the summer months, with three private bedrooms, a kitchen and bathroom all under the roof.

“Stonegate Pub Partners are now seeking a community led publican or couple who can provide an attractive food offer to drive trade and maximise revenue,” Stonegate say.
