A NEW initiative to provide practical wellbeing support for those working in hospitality will begin in Bournemouth.

Fit for Hospitality will support those in the industry on how to improve their physical and mental wellbeing.

To start the initiative, a 5K or 10K run will take place along Bournemouth beach promenade on Thursday, September 21.

Open to anyone, up to 600 people will tackle the challenge to raise funds for three charities, Room to Reward, Hospitality Action and Springboard.

Founder, Simon Maguire, spent decades in hospitality and now works in leadership training for West Peak, based in Parley.

He is on a mission to support fitness and wellbeing within the hospitality sector, with exercise and challenges within the initiative providing not only a goal to work towards but also a sense of achievement.

Simon said: “We all have a link to those who work tirelessly within the hospitality industry and will really benefit from the advice and support we aim to offer, encouraging physical and mental well-being.

“We are delighted to be partnered with such great causes too, with fundraising crucial to their ongoing efforts.”

The event will begin at 9am on Bournemouth promenade.
