A FIRE has ripped through two homes following a lightning strike last night.
Some 15 people were evacuated after lightning hit the roof of a building in Coronation Way, Corfe Mullen shortly after midnight.
Six fire engines raced to the scene with crews from Wimborne, Poole, Hamworthy and Ferndown scrambled.
According to a spokesperson from Dorset & Wiltshire Fire Service Fire two semi-detached homes were significantly damaged with the first floor 'severely damaged'.
Firefighters used an aerial ladder platform, 12 breathing apparatus and three hose reel jets to tackle the blaze.
It is understood that no one was injured, however, investigators will be carrying out enquiries today.
