POLICE have been seen carrying out house-to-house enquiries as officers continue to investigate the discovery of human remains in Boscombe.

Officers are conducting the enquiries today, Friday, September 8, at houses in the area of Undercliff Road.

A resident received a letter from police saying officers were carrying out the enquiries and are keen to speak to anyone who ‘may have seen or heard any suspicious activity or behaviour or anything unusual’ between Friday, August 18 and Friday, September 1.

Cordons remain in place in Boscombe Chine Gardens after human remains were discovered on the Manor Steps Zig Zag on Saturday, August 26.

The victim was identified as 49-year-old Simon Shotton from Bournemouth.

Further remains were found in the gardens on Wednesday morning at around 10.45am.

While the remains are yet to be formally identified, police confirmed officers believe they are linked to the ongoing investigation.

Debbie Ann Pereira, 38 and Benjamin Lee Atkins, 48, were charged with murder and have appeared in court.

The pair are next due at Bournemouth Crown Court on Friday, October 20.

On Wednesday, detective inspector Neil Third of the Major Crime Investigation Team said officers are keen to speak to anyone who saw somebody ‘in possession of a black suitcase’ in the area of Boscombe Chine Gardens.
