HENDY Group is set to open its first Vauxhall dealership in Dorset after buying the former Eden Vauxhall site in Poole.

The group already owns a Maserati site in the area, but the introduction of Vauxhall is part of a company plan to broader relationships with Stellantis.

Hendy Group was appointed to handle Maserati, for sales and service work, at a showroom in Poole at the end of last year.

Chief executive, Paul Hendy, previously said the collaboration showed Hendy’s strength and ambition for the future.

“2023 is proving to be a key year for the group with this acquisition in Dorset, the opening of Vauxhall in Salisbury and Kent, and the launch of a new three dealership showroom in Hampshire later this year,” said Paul.

Eden colleagues working at the previous Vauxhall dealership will transfer to the Hendy group to continue providing new and used cars.

“Dorset and Wiltshire are traditionally strong areas for the group, and we are looking forward to being part of Stellantis and welcoming the Eden Group colleagues at Branksome to team Hendy,” said Paul.

“This is an exciting move for Hendy Group and reinforces our long-term commitment to the south, investment in our future and providing a high-quality service for motorists across the south coast.”

Hendy Group has also signed an agreement to sell Vauxhall cars in Salisbury and will be opening both a Vauxhall and Peugeot in Kent.

In Salisbury, Hendy will open a sales and servicing dealership for Vauxhall while a new site in Tonbridge, Kent will become a Vauxhall and Peugeot centre for sales and servicing.

With these new sites, Hendy Group now operates in 57 locations across the south and south west.

The group employs more than 1700 colleagues and has a turnover in excess of £1billion.
